Gin and her sister Sadie were dumped along with seven brothers and sisters on the doorstep of our rescue partners in the Algarve Portugal. The puppies needed some much needed TLC and feeding and have become delightful playful puppies.
Neither parents have been seen, but all the litter look the same and resemble Portuguese Water Dogs, with their curly or wavy hair. If you haven’t heard of this breed perhaps you may recall by Bo Obama, First Dog of the U.S. President Obama.
The Portuguese Water Dogs, PWD, are related to the Poodle and the PWD has a reputation for being hypoallergenic. However, there’s really no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. All dogs shed and produce dander to some degree. But the PWD doesn’t shed much. Please note that as neither parent have been seen and we haven’t done a DNA test, we are only guessing at their breed and eventual size.
What we do know is they are very friendly, sociable with other dogs and are very cuddly.
They come fully vaccinated, wormed flea & tick treated.
Size when grown – approx. medium 43–52 cm (17–20 in)
Good on lead
Good with children
